Cooking your favorite snacks from scratch is time consuming, yet fun. I love to make chaat items at home. Both chutneys are always ready in my freezer. All I have to do is fry some puris and we get to enjoy homemade Shev Puri.
Ingredients:
Flat or Puffed Puris
Mint Cilantro (Hot) Chutney
Sweet Sour/Khatti Meethi Chutney
Yellow Peas or any sprouts
Raw Mango
Boiled Potatoes
Red Onions
Tomatoes
Shev/Sev
Turmeric/Haldi
Asafoetida/Hing
Chat Masala
Salt
How to make Sev Puri
- Soak yellow peas for 4 - 5 hours. Cook them till soft. Do not add too much water. Add salt, turmeric, asafetida and bring it to a boil.
- Finely chop onions, raw mango, tomatoes and boiled potatoes.
- For the recipes of green chutney, sweet sour chutney, home made puris click on the links in the ingredients list above.
- Place puris on a plate. If puffed, crack them in the middle. Pick the toppings you like. For me, I add cooked peas, chopped onions, mangoes, tomatoes, potatoes, both chutneys. Sprinkle a pinch of chat masala on all the puris. Finally top the puris with sev.
