Avocado Roti / Paratha

Avocado Paratha
Paratha is a great way to include some veggies in our everyday diet, especially when your little one does not eat something like creamy Avocado guacamole. The soft and moist avocado flesh makes the parathas very soft and flaky. What I love about this fruity flat-bread is its easy to make, its oil free and my kiddo loves it. Roll the paratha with some sautéed potatoes and your child will love it even more.

Ingredients:
Avocados - 2
Durum Wheat Flour/Atta - 2 cups
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
Green Chili Paste - 1/2 tsp
White Sesame Seeds/Til - 1 tsp
Aamchur/Dry Mango Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander/Cilantro Leaves - few sprigs
Oil or Butter or Ghee (optional)
Salt
Avocado

How to make Avocado Roti or Chapati or Paratha:
  • In a big mixing bowl, scoop out the soft flesh of two ripe avocados. Mash the avocados well. Next, add finely chopped cilantro leaves, aamchur powder, sesame seeds, ginger garlic paste, green chili paste and salt. Mix all the ingredients well.
  • Now, add the flour, little at a time and keep kneading until you get a soft dough. For 2 ripe avocados, I used 2 cups of flour. You might need less or more flour depending on the size of the avocados.
Avocado Roti
  • Let the dough rest for 30 minutes. Divide the dough into 10 parts and roll each one between your palms into a round ball.
  • Sprinkle some flour on the board and roll each dough ball as thin or thick you like. Roast both sides of each rolled avocado roti on a tawa/griddle until brown spots appear. Apply some butter or ghee if you like.
Serve hot Avocado Paratha with yogurt or any curry of your choice.
Have a great day guys! See you soon.
